Don’t worry, ladies. If Russell Crow is your fav. hottie in Hollywood, no need to fret about any permanent face damage here. Nope. That weird, ugly facial scar that you see across the greater part of Crowe’s face is only for his upcoming film Winter’s Tale being filmed in Red Hook, Brooklyn, where he was seen Monday showin’ that ugly thing off.
In the film Crowe plays a gangster boss named Pearly Soames, which, doesn’t really sound all that “gangster,” but no doubt Crowe will ensure he keeps it boss.
And if you were thinking the film has to do with Shakespeare’s famous pay, well, it doesn’t. It’s based off of Mark Helprin’s novel set at the turn of the 20th century in Manhattan, and tells the story of a young Irish burglar named Peter Lake (Colin Farrell) who falls in love with a woman (Jessica Brown Findlay) while robbing her house. Not the typical way to meet your soulmate, but hey, it could happen.
I’m excited to see what’s to come from this one directed by Akiva Goldsman, who is known mainly for writing and producing anything from I Am Legend to Angels & Demons (I mean, he wrote the screenplay for Batman Forever, so you know it’s gotta be somewhat good.)
