Nordic food at N’eat NYC:

When my fellow foodies ask if I want to go out and eat a bunch of meaty dishes on a Tuesday afternoon, I’m of course prone to saying yes (I mean, how could I say no?). And the menu for this Nordic inspired place Neat blew me away not only with its fierce combinations, but with the artistry put behind the final product staying true to the traditional Northeast European region’s cuisine—lots of meat. So if you ever want to impress a date (oh: make sure they’re not vegetarian), take them to this restaurant that’s menu is practically made for two:

Aebleskiever – braised duck with lingonberries

Buckwheat toast with Cremini mushroom, Cabot clothbound cheddar:

Scotch Quail Egg with rye and blackcurrant mustard:

Island Creek oysters with finger limes and preserved kombu:
Grilled Prawns with Myer lemon and egg yolk jam:
Fluke crude with dashi and gooseberries gel:
Salt baked celeriac with horseradish cream:
Boneless beef short rib for two with bone marrow and fermented cherries:

Kale salad with lemon vinaigrette and toasted sourdough:
Sunchokes with lemongrass, parsley and inverno cheese:
