It has been on my list for a while now, and I finally made my way up to the Bronx for New York Botanical Garden’s Frida Kahlo exhibit. Which: uhhh, might be my favorite thing about New York City spring ever—as you transport through this 250 acre exhibit showcasing Frida Kahlo’s Mexico City life.

New York has not had a Kahlo exhibit in over 10 years, so you know the NYBG had to go all out with a “blockbuster exhibition” lasting 6 months from May 16-November 1. Art, Garden, Life floods the Native Plant Garden, Azalea Garden, and Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden with flowers from Kahlo’s famed garden at the Casa Azul.

From the NYBG’s Conservatory Gate Entrance through the pathways leading to Ross Gallery where Kahlo’s original works are on display, all the way to the backside Rockefeller Rose Garden, your senses have no choice but to indulge in the floral wonderland inspired by the artist.

Here are some shots I took while walking through Art, Garden, Life (all edited with VSCO). Be sure to make the trek up to the Bronx to see this; you will not regret it for one second.
