Mitt and Rob, the illustrated edition: a comic artist’s vision of Delaney’s political comedy

A Rob Delaney tweet can stir up some absurd and um… special images to the brain (like how “Van Morrison’s ‘Crazy Love’ is about the time his mom’s friend Eleanor made him put on a buffalo mask & do her on a tractor”), but laughter-evoking images nevertheless. And in the recent months leading up to the 2012 election, all 500 thousand something of us have gotten to enjoy more of the political side of Delaney’s humor, targeting Republican candidate Mitt Romney with some ridiculously hilarious (and true!) statements that have received a lot of attention from the media.

An extraordinary comic artist Josh (@pants) from Portland who’s also the creator of a web comic series “Formal Sweatpants,” had a vision of these jokes and has decided to illustrate some of the best of Delaney’s cleverness into a Tumblr series “Mitt and Rob” (and we’re so glad that he did because they might be the funniest political cartoons we’ve ever seen).

It’s on like Donkey Kong (it’s only August!) and we cannot wait to see how this will all pan out come Novembertime. Could the power of Twitter combined with Delaney’s little truths within his Romney jokes be enough to impact future votes? We can only hope!
