Viva Forever: Spice Girls reunite for Broadway musical

In case you wanted to feel really old, the Spice Girls song “Wannabe” was released 16 years ago today off their first self-titled studio album. And in celebration of a legacy (what girl didn’t buy platform shoes and try to mimic their favorite Spice Girl?) the group will reunite for a Broadway musical Viva Forever written by Jennifer Saunders (co-creator of Absolutely Fabulous) and produced by Judy Cramer.

At a press conference Craymer said, “I loved what the Spice Girls did for women’s confidence [...] [and] [t]here’s something very empowering about them.”

The musical will debut in London at the Piccadilly Theatre on December 11, with previews starting on November 27.
